BOTOX® injections are the simplest and most effective way to improve dynamic lines and wrinkles-helping to restore confidence and making you feel better about yourself.
Over 6 million BOTOX ® treatments are performed every year in the United States alone and it has been estimated to be well over 1 million treatments in the UK; and the number is rising!
Dermal Fillers
What are Dermal Fillers
These are gels made of a natural substance call Hyaluronic Acid which is actually a sugar based molecule. There are only small amounts of it present in the overall body but it is an important part of the matrix of the skin (along with collagen) and also in joints and in the eye. It acts as a natural shock absorber and as it attracts over 1000 molecules of water per molecule of Hyaluronic Acid is deeply hydrating, giving volume and lift to the skin. It also promotes the production of collagen within the skin.
As we age, we lose Hyaluronic Acid causing skin to become loose, thin and dehydrated leading to folds and wrinkles eg nose to mouth lines and droppy mouth corners. Dermal Fillers are sterile,non-animal based synthetic versions of Hyaluronic Acid which when injected into the skin replace the lost volume, giving lift, suppleness and hydration. They are so versatile that they can be used to not only lift skin and improve folds but for shaping and contouring the face, replacing lost volume, sculpting checks and chin and enhancing the lips.
Unlike Permanent Fillers which can cause problems, Hyaluronic Acid fillers are temporary and reversible if ever needed using a natural enzyme called Hyaluronidase.
There are a wide variety of temporary hyaluronic acid dermal fillers available. They vary according to their viscosity, strength and longevity. Much like an artist with a pallet of different colours, textures and types of paint, Dr Dan Dhunna can incorporate his knowledge, skill and experience in dermal fillers to create the most pleasing, natural and personal results tailored just for you

Dermal Fillers Aftercare Instructions
Immediately after the treatment, there may be slight redness, swelling, tenderness and an itching sensation in the treated area. This is a normal result of the injection.
The inconvenience is temporary and generally disappears in a day or two.
If the inconvenience continues or if other reactions occur, please contact the practice.
Apply an ice pack to the treated area, this will reduce the initial swelling.
If you are having lip treatment the initial swelling may last longer.
It can last for about a week and the lips may look somewhat uneven during this time, therefore, the result directly after this treatment should not be seen as the final result.
Avoid touching the treated area within 6 hours following treatment.
After that, light make-up can be applied and the area can be gently washed with soap and water.
Until the initial swelling and redness have resolved, do not expose the treated area to intense heat (eg. Solarium and Sunbathing) or extreme cold.
If you have previously suffered from facial cold sores, there is a risk that the needle punctures could contribute to another eruption of cold sores.
If you are using aspirin or any similar medication, be aware that these may increase the bruising and bleeding at the injection site.
Since the dermal filler is absorbed, the correction effect reduces over time.
Most people choose to be treated again within six months of the original treatment.
Botox After Care Instructions
Botox is meant to temporarily block the transmission of nerve impulses to the muscles - reducing the activity in these muscles which decreases the appearance of lines/wrinkles.
After Botox is placed into the targeted muscle, the weakening effect gradually begins anywhere from 24 hours - 5 days and is not complete for two weeks.
Therefore, optimal results are not seen for at least two weeks.
