This role will be based in East Molesey in Surrey. The salary offered is £21,000 pro-rata per annum based on 18 hours per week spread over 3 days.

Key Responsibilities

The primary focus of this role is to manage a payroll (weekly and monthly) on behalf of our private clients including dealing with HMRC and answering all administrative queries both externally and internally.

Main duties will include:

Running the payroll on a weekly or monthly basis for a number of Parental Choice’s payroll clients
Technical support for the Parental Choice team on payroll queries, salary calculations, pension queries and answering payroll client queries
Setting up PAYE scheme and file PAYE returns electronically
Calculating correct tax and National Insurance payments
Providing accurate payslips and summaries each week
Providing accurate quarterly statements (P32s) to each of our clients setting out the tax and National Insurance payments to be made by the client to HMRC, specifying the period of payment, account details and HMRC reference number
Provide P45s when nannies leave their current employment
Calculate any holiday pay owing to nannies when they leave their current employment to be included within their final payslip
Produce the nannies’ P60 for each client at the end of the tax year
Calculate weekly or monthly pay, either net or gross, and keep all necessary records.
Calculate holiday pay for part time, shift workers etc.
Calculate any Statutory Parental Pay due to the nanny and reclaim this from HMRC on the relevant Client’s behalf as instructed
Calculate any client’s P11D form, if necessary, as instructed
Calculate pension calculations and assist clients with their auto-enrolment pension obligations
Person Specification

The ideal candidate for this job will possess the following skills and experience:

Previous experience working in Payroll
Previous experience working with payroll software
Confident and polite telephone manner (this position is 80% telephone based so you need to be happy to be on the phone)
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Excellent organisational skills and ability to multitask an often complex workload
Good computer skills (MS Excel particularly)
Accurate with a good eye for detail
Comfortable working within a small, flexible team
Willing to muck in where needed
There will be a requirement for additional hours to assist the team in general when other team members are away. Notice will be provided as far in advance as possible when this is the case.
