We are currently seeking a Live-in Cook/House Manager for an in-formal family household in Notting Hill.
A family of six with four children between the ages of 17 – 8 with pets including a small dog and 2 cats. The cooking side of this role is preparing family breakfast and family style evening meals with occasional guests invited.
This role will require a candidate with experience working in private residences for UHNW clients who has gained an in-depth understanding of what is required to ensure the smooth running of both a residence and family life. In this role, you will require a dynamic skill set, excellent initiative, strong communication, and a flexible attitude as you will be the principals first port of call when it comes to matters relating to the household. This role is both hands-on and managerial so applicants must have both skill sets
Duties will include (but not limited to):
• Supervising 2 housekeepers, overseeing the daily operations of the household to ensure efficiency and discretion
• Liaising with contractors, gardeners and maintenance staff
• Cooking fresh, healthy meals as required
• Ensuring the home is always maintained to an exceptional standard, reporting maintenance issues promptly and coordinating with outside contractors for repairs
• Helping with lunch/dinner parties (2 a month to be scheduled at least a week in advance) including cooking, setting and laying of tables, help clearing up
• Provisioning for the house (doing food shops for family)
• Driving errands, school runs as required
• Light maintenance tasks like changing light bulbs, etc
• Assisting in managing household budgets, including expenses and purchases
The ideal candidate will have a background in Private households and will be looking for a long-term role in a family environment. Excellent communication, attention to detail, discretion, and a hardworking nature is a must for this role. Teamwork is a key factor as the candidate will be working with the family, Nannies, live-out/live-in Housekeepers, and a PA. An ability to take initiative and manage responsibilities is also a must.
Working Days: Your normal working days will be Monday to Friday with occasional Saturdays when the family is in residence.
7:00am – 6:30pm with Breaks and Lunch during these times.
The family are away during all the school holidays so you will be able to take time off and your schedule will be Mon – Fri will less hours.
Holiday allowance: 36 days paid holiday allowance each year
