My name is Carla and I am a university-educated, native English teacher and trainer and I love helping people learn this *quirky language called English.

I hold a Delta diploma, which is the highest qualification for English language teaching, and have more than thirteen years' experience working with adults and children of all different ages and nationalities at some of the world's top schools and universities.

I speak Italian and French and can understand some Spanish, Arabic and Greek too, so I know how challenging (and fun!) it can be to learn a new language.

My lessons are designed to help you improve your general, academic or business English.

I also support younger learners with their schoolwork, helping prepare them for the English component of exams such as the 11-Plus and GCSEs.

I am professional, patient and supportive, and will adapt my lessons to suit your needs.

I can assist you with:

WRITING (formal and informal / essays / creative / work correspondence)

READING (improving speed and comprehension & understanding the meaning of new words)

I offer a free 20-30 minute initial assessment to discuss your needs and level.

My fees start from £30/hour and vary depending on the type of English taught, the length and location, and whether they are one-to-one or in a small group.

You may find others charging lower fees, but my prices reflect my extensive experience, qualifications and skills, as well as the amount of preparation I put in to each lesson with my student.

My lessons are always tailor-made for the individual - I will not just give you lots of generic grammar gap fills to work on, as these are boring and not particularly useful. With me you can be sure that I will be focusing on YOUR particular needs.

I am now also offering online lessons via Skype - all you need is a good internet connection and a webcam!

I am DBS-checked and am happy to provide references on request.

If you need help editing your Word documents, I also provide a proofreading service.
