Helping you find the right care for your loved one
We understand that it can be a little overwhelming finding the right care for your loved one, which is why we’re here to help. Our care is tailored to meet the needs of each individual, whether you’re looking for temporary or long term care, nursing or residential care, or for a loved one living with dementia.
Some of our homes can also offer support and assistance for residents with Parkinson’s disease, Huntington’s disease or learning difficulties and we also care for the young and physically disabled.
Residential nursing care
If you or your loved one has a condition that requires more hands-on care, our nursing care homes offer 24-hour support.
You’ll have the benefit and assistance you get from living in a residential care home, with additional nursing care.
What to expect
In our nursing care homes, you can expect the following:
- Registered nurses
- 24-hour nursing care
- Well presented, comfortable accommodation
- Freshly-prepared, nutritionally balanced meals
- Laundry and cleaning services
- Long and short-stay nursing care options
- Nursing care for those funded by the Local Authorities, private funding and NHS continuing care
Our approach to nursing care
Our person-centred approach to nursing care means that you will be respected as an individual and treated with dignity. All our residents have their own personal care plan, which recognises their individual needs and wishes, and allows us to tailor our care to their likes and dislikes.
We also ask you, your friends and family to help us to create a plan called ‘my day, my life, my story’. This records your life story and helps us to get to know you and the things that are most important to you when you arrive.
The cost of care
The price you’ll pay for care will depend on the type of support and accommodation you need, and the length of your stay.
The following are covered within our costs:
- 24-hour nursing care
- Utility bills
- Council tax
- Laundry and cleaning services
- Bed linen and towels
- Activities
- All home-cooked meals and refreshments
In many of our care homes, there are additional treatments and services available such as hairdressing, physiotherapy, chiropody and aromatherapy. Speak to a care home manager to get more information, including any additional costs.
Dementia care
We understand how worrying it can be when you think you or a loved one may have dementia, as it’s hard to know what to expect. That’s why we’re here to help you every step of the way.
We aim to offer you the best level of care and support for you or your loved one, whether it's assisting you with care, finding the right care home or providing you with information and advice on your situation.
We offer practical and emotional support to make sure you receive the help you need to live positively with dementia.
Convalescence care
When you’ve been through surgery or you’ve had a debilitating illness, it’s important you receive the care and support you need to recover and rebuild your independence.
We provide short term care in our care homes, especially designed for those recovering from an illness or operation, which is often referred to as convalescence care.
Helping you recover
When you’ve been through surgery or have been unwell, it can place a big strain on your body. So it’s important that you receive the care and support you need to help you get on the road to recovery. A well-managed recovery can also help to reduce to risk of complications or needing further treatment.
Our convalescence care focuses on the recovery from an operation or debilitating illness. So you might not still be considered ill, but your body may need a little bit of extra time to recuperate. A temporary stay in one of our care homes can help you get that extra time to recover while being able to relax in the knowledge that support is on hand when you need it.
What to expect
If you choose to receive your convalescence care in one of our care homes, you’ll be given an individual assessment to make sure all your needs can be met. This will help us create a personal care plan for you so you can focus on your recovery with peace of mind knowing you’ll be well looked after.
You’ll also be able to participate in a range of activities, enjoy well-balanced, delicious meals and we’ll take care of all your laundry. We offer some extras and additional services such as hairdressing, physiotherapy and chiropody in some of our homes – the home manager will be able to answer any questions you have about adding on extras.
If you’re interested in finding out more about our convalescence care, our dedicated team of trained care advisers can answer any questions you may have.
Respite care
Caring for a loved one can be rewarding, but it’s important for both of you that you get a bit of time off every now and then.
This is where short stay care breaks, also known as respite care, can come in useful.
As a carer you’ll be able to relax and recharge your batteries knowing that your loved one will be in a safe and comfortable environment, receiving 24-hour care.
You might want to consider short stay care if:
- you’re planning a holiday
- you need additional support – perhaps after feeling unwell
- your loved one needs help to recover from an illness or operation
- you’re considering moving your loved one into a care permanently and they’d like a trial visit
- the person you’re caring for may feel lonely and could benefit from some time in a care home
Finding the right care home for you
If you or your loved one decides to have short stay in one of our care homes, you can expect a warm welcome upon arrival. You’ll be assigned a key carer who will show you and your loved one around the home and help them to settle in.
We’ll work together with you to get to know your loved one and learn about them to help make their stay as comfortable and enjoyable as we can.
We’ll want to discover what’s important to your loved one, and will ask questions like:
- What are your likes and dislikes?
- Do you have any personal routines or preferences you’d like us to know about?
- What do you like to eat and drink?
- When do you like to go to bed?
- Do you have any hobbies or interests?

As you get older it’s common to need extra support to carry out everyday tasks.
Whether it’s a helping hand when you need it or you’re finding it increasingly difficult to cope at home, our residential care homes can provide you with the level of support you need. Our care homes offer accommodation, meals and personal care, tailored to your individual tastes and requirements.

Our people
Our person-centred approach means you’ll be respected as an individual and treated with dignity during your stay. When you arrive we’ll work with you to create a personal care plan, tailored to your needs and wishes.
From our care assistants to the housekeepers, you’ll find teams of skilled, experienced staff that look after all the different aspects of running our homes and taking care of our residents around the clock.
We also have chefs in our homes who prepare fresh tasty meals for residents, which are packed full of delicious ingredients. When we create your tailored care plan we’ll find out your favourite dishes and any dietary requirements to make sure the chef is aware of these and can cater to them.
Palliative care
Palliative care is designed for those with a life limiting illness to help relieve symptoms, manage pain and improve their quality of life.
It’s aimed to help you or your loved one live as well as possible.
Some of our care homes offer palliative care, where a dedicated team of nurses provide around-the-clock care in a calm and comfortable environment for every resident. We understand that illnesses affect everyone differently, so we’ll work with you to tailor your loved one’s palliative care to their individual needs.
Our goal is to improve the quality of life for both your loved one and their family, as it can be a difficult and emotional time when someone close to you is seriously ill. So our care homes offer support to help you cope during your loved one’s care.
Our palliative care focuses on:
- Helping our residents by managing the physical symptoms of their condition
- Improving quality of life for the resident and their family
- Providing around-the-clock care in a calm and comfortable environment
- Understanding and respecting your loved one’s wishes from the start
- Providing continuous support for the family
What to expect
If you choose for your loved one to receive palliative care within one of our care homes, we’ll develop a care plan which will make sure all their needs are met. It’s our goal to make sure your loved one has the best quality of life throughout their stay with us whilst providing those close to them with the support, advice or opportunity to talk, during such an emotional time.
We want your loved one to enjoy their stay with us so we’ll get to know them so we can tailor their care to what’s most important to them.
Our homes are warm and welcoming, with facilities created with you or your loved one’s needs in mind.
