Hello! My name is Gemma, I love dogs and walking, so after a long time in the veterinary field, I have taken the leap to set up my own dog walking business PAWS: Walks & Zoomies. I want to provide dogs that need to be left with an opportunity to get out and be walked in an enjoyable, safe and trustworthy way.
I have been in the veterinary field for 22 years, have been a registered veterinary nurse for 14 years and a strong commitment to delivering excellent animal care so you know that your dog(s) will be in safe hands with me. My family has owned dogs for all of my life and I currently own a Lurcher who gives me hours of walks. I will treat all dogs as my own so you can be confident that when you leave them with me they will be in the best possible care.
I have been DBS checked, I have business cover on my car insurance and have dog walking business insurance.
Covering South Tyneside (South Shields, Boldon Hebburn, Jarrow, Whitburn, Seaburn), Sunderland, Seaham, Washington & parts of County Durham. Happy to discuss other areas.
Services Offered
Whether you are looking for someone to walk your dog(s), or simply drop-in on your pet whilst you are at work, I can help you.
I provide a professional service, tailored to meet the requirements of both you and your pet(s) in a fun, friendly and flexible way.
Dog walking
I offer individual and small group walks to suit your dog(s) needs. I will collect your dog(s) from your home, at a time that is suitable for you. I work from early morning to early evening, to provide flexible walk times. Walks can be 30 minutes or an hour to meet the exercise requirements of your pet. Hourly visits will incorporate a walk either in your local area, or after transport to an area away from traffic. I will never walk your dog off the lead without your prior written consent. Water will be available on the walk. I will clean and dry your pet after the walk, and I will top their water up before I leave and if required I can feed or medicate them. If your dog requires anything else before or after the walk then this can be discussed. All dogs should have up to date vaccinations and wear an ID tag.
Drop-in Service/ Home Visit
If you have a puppy or a poorly or elderly dog that is unable to go for a walk for whatever reason, but who would benefit from a visit during the day then we can provide a drop-in service to see to your dog(s) needs. This could include letting them out in to the garden, feeding, medicating, playing, or simply just for company, in order to give you piece of mind.
Contact me to arrange a convenient time for me to meet you and your dog(s), so that we can get to know each other. During this meeting I will gather basic information about your dog(s) and their requirements and answer any questions that you might have.
