Home Air Conditioning Installations

Ideal Systems for Homes:
Wall Mounted Air Conditioners
Wall mounted air conditioners are probably the most common units used in a residential environment. The two main advantages are that wall units are always the cheapest option to install; they are also easy to retrofit in rooms without the need for building works or redecoration. They are long, thin and placed at a high level on the wall.

Like all the models designed for homes, they are also exceptionally quiet. You should avoid air conditioning models over 8kW in power as they are primarily intended for commercial applications and can be noisy. Our surveyors will make sure you get the optimal solution for your home.

A single wall unit will usually be able to cool most rooms; however, larger rooms sometimes need an additional unit. There are also premium models of wall mounted home air conditioning units (like the Gree Moda, Daikin Emura, and Mitsubishi Zen units – click the link below to see). They are a little more expensive; however, they are superb looking units.

Ducted Units for Homes

Ducted Air Conditioning Systems are the most expensive choice, but they are certainly the most aesthetically pleasing solution. Ducted home air conditioning systems can be used to cool multiple rooms; however, the downside is that you cannot have individual room control (unless you have multiple ducted systems). The ductwork and cooling unit(s) are hidden within a false ceiling or loft space, so all that you see is a small neat grille in the ceiling.

There are various grille designs available which suit different shapes and sizes of room. Our surveyors will talk you through the various solutions, so you’ll achieve the exact look you’re after.

Please note that these are best fitted as part of a building project as they require a ceiling void to house both the ducting and the air conditioning unit itself.

Low Wall-Mounted Air Conditioners for Homes

Low wall-mounted air conditioners are often used in conservatories and loft conversions because they are ideal for ‘dwarf-walls’, however, they are suitable for any room in the home.

They are very similar to wall mounted units (discussed above), however, they are placed at a low level on the wall. They are more expensive than traditional wall mounted home air conditioning units, but customers sometimes prefer them because, as with radiators, they are placed out of their line of sight.

If you are interested in having low wall-units, then tell our surveyor, and they’ll design a suitable solution for you.

Air Conditioners for Homes

Fixed air conditioners have become common in many homes in the UK. They keep you comfortable throughout the day and can significantly aid sleeping at night through hot spells. The home air conditioning units we install are extremely energy efficient and whisper-quiet. The energy efficiency ratings of the units we install are exceptional, with most the domestic air conditioners being rated “A++”. When using air conditioners as your primary source of heating you can make significant savings against using conventional radiators.

When selecting home air conditioners, there are many factors to take into consideration. The number of rooms, dimensions, layout and aesthetics are all important as well as the cost implications. Manufacturers have worked hard to create a wide array of models and systems that look very aesthetically pleasing in the home, and some units can seem virtually invisible in a room.

We provide a free site survey no matter how big or small the job. All surveys are carried out by our experienced aircon engineers who can tackle even the toughest of domestic air conditioning installations. To find out more about specific rooms in the home click the links below.

Air Conditioners for Bedrooms

One of the main reasons that people struggle to sleep at night is due to uncomfortable temperatures (both hot and cold) and high humidity. Air Conditioners can instantly and efficiently solve both these situations, and they are less expensive than you may think.

The Air Conditioning Company only installs air conditioners that are whisper quiet and cause no distraction whatsoever. This means you won’t have to leave a window open and have outside night-time noises affect your sleep; ideal if you live near the main road.

Usually, a low powered air conditioner is suitable for most bedrooms so when selecting an aircon unit, the primary considerations are typically based on price, features and aesthetics.

When selecting an air conditioner for a lounge, there are a few key factors to take into consideration. The size, layout and usage of the room all contribute to the type of system we’ll recommend. Although conservatories are commonplace across the UK, they all present the same overheating issues. Perhaps the biggest problem is the very fact that they become far too hot in the summer, or too cold on winter evenings!

It’s vital that accurate calculations are undertaken by an experienced surveyor to ensure that enough cooling power is recommended. We take room size, planned usage and glass coverage all into account when designing the ideal aircon solution for your conservatory.
