My name is Carla and I am a university-educated, English teacher and trainer from London, who loves helping people learn this *quirky language. I have a clear, standard English accent, which my students tell me is easy to understand.

I hold a Delta diploma, which is the highest qualification for English language teaching, and have fourteen years' experience working with adults and children of all different ages and nationalities at some of the world's top schools and universities.

I speak Italian and French and can understand some Spanish, Arabic and Greek too, so I know how challenging (and fun!) it can be to learn a new language.

My lessons are designed to help you improve your general, academic or business English.

I also support younger learners with their schoolwork, helping prepare them for the English component of exams such as the 11-Plus and GCSEs.

I am professional, patient and supportive, and will adapt my lessons to suit your needs.

I offer a free 20-30 minute initial assessment to discuss your needs and level. My fees start from £30/hour and vary depending on the type of English taught, the length and location, and whether they are one-to-one or in a small group. You may find others charging lower fees, but my prices reflect my extensive experience, qualifications and skills, as well as the amount of preparation I put in to each lesson with my student.

My lessons are always tailor-made for the individual - I will not just give you lots of generic grammar gap fills to work on, as these are boring and not particularly useful.

With me you can be sure that I will be focusing on YOUR particular needs.

I also offer online lessons via Skype - all you need is a good internet connection and a webcam.

You can study from anywhere in the world!

I am DBS-checked and am happy to provide references on request.

If you need help editing your Word documents, I also provide a proofreading service.
