We're a wood stove installation company based in Central London. We cover all London postcodes from the north West to the South East and back again. And we've two teams on the road so we can get around the city pretty quickly.

WE SELL AND INSTALL STOVES

We work with a range of stove distributors so we can get you a price on any stove you choose. We're also happy to install your stove if you source it yourself - so long as it meets UK building regulations. And we can recommend some quality manufacturers if you're looking for some impartial advice.

HETAS REGISTERED INSTALLERS

We're HETAS certified to install standalone stoves as well as wood fired boiler stoves, and we're Gas Safe certified so we can remove any existing gas fires you might want rid of or install the gas gas boiler to accompany your wood burning boiler stove.

FREE QUOTES AND FREE SITE SURVEYS

Our entire quoting process is free of charge. This includes free site surveys and fully itemised written quotations. We also separate products from services in our quotes so you know where your money’s going. We aim to give our clients all the information they need before choosing us as installers.

LONDON IS A SMOKE CONTROL AREA

London’s in a smoke control area so you need a Defra approved stove if you want to burn wood in the city. This basically ensures all stoves in London meet a minimum efficiency, which helps to reduce pollution. Most reputable stove manufacturers have a Defra range specifically for smokeless zones. If you’d like some help choosing a stove just give us a call.

WOOD BURNING STOVES

We love wood stoves. They look great, make your house warm, burning wood's carbon lean so it doesn’t cost the planet and they can be a wonderful focus for a family home.

WOOD STOVE MAINTENANCE
A well-tended stove shouldn’t need much maintenance but it is recommended you have the chimney swept at least once a year, and if you use your stove regularly it should be swept every six months. Some house insurance policies make this a requirement. If you’d like your chimney swept give us a call and we’ll arrange it for you.

HETAS
We’re HETAS registered installers so you can be safe knowing all our installs will be done to the highest industry standards. And we make a point of following best practice above and beyond regulations. This includes lining chimneys and recommending the highest efficiency stoves.

HOW WE WORK
Wood burning stove installations usually take between one and three days. If you have an existing fireplace and it's a straightforward install it could take us less than eight hours - we could even be finished before you get home from work.

It’ll take a little longer if we need to do building work as part of the job. This might include laying a new hearth, removing bricks from the fireplace, rendering the insides and plastering your walls, removing existing gas fires, uncapping chimneys or installing twin wall flue systems.

DEFRA AND SMOKE CONTROL AREAS
London is an official smoke control area. This means you can only burn wood if you have a stove that’s Defra approved for smoke controlled zones. Defra stoves burn wood with high efficiency which means less pollution. Most stove manufacturers have a Defra range.

TWIN WALL FLUE

NO CHIMNEY: NO PROBLEM
Rigid twin wall flue is used where there isn’t an existing chimney. It’s a little larger than flexible liner because it’s built with a layer of insulation between two sheets of stainless steel. The standard diameter of twin wall for a wood burning stove would be 200mm external / 150mm internal.

INSIDE AND OUT
Twin wall flue is suitable for internal and external installation so you can either have it run up through your house, up the outside of a side wall, or even freestanding to a height of 3m above a roof.

QUALITY GOODS
As with flexible liner, there’s a lot of twin wall products on the market and they can vary in quality. When we supply twin wall flue for our jobs we either use Schiedel or Poujoulat, both brands with excellent reputations. Schiedel even paint their twin wall in any RAL colour you choose. Perfect for blending in with the wallpaper.

PLANNING PERMISSION
Twin wall flue can require planning permission. We always recommend you seek advice from your local planning department in the early stages of arranging a twin wall project. If an application is required we can provide you with all the architectural drawings and specifications you’ll need.
