This grooming course is for pet owners who wish to learn how to groom their own dog of for people wishing to get a taster before committing to one of the longer courses.
On this course pet owners will be taught how to groom their pet from start to finish.
For future students this course will give them an understanding of what the longer courses involve and a chance to see how the courses are carried out.
All students will be given notes as well as before and after pictures and all equipment and overalls will be supplied.

The City & Guilds Level 2 Certificate for Dog Grooming Assistants enables basic skills required to work in a commercial dog grooming environment as an assistant. The Certificate is a standalone qualification.
This beginners course a pathway to perusing a professional career in dog grooming and will give you some of the skills required with plenty of hands-on experience with a wide variety of breeds. The Level 2 Qualification as of September 2017 must be completed before the level 3.

Correct handling of dogs
Health checking and recognising problems
Basic first aid
Basic styling
Basic Clipping, scissoring and hand stripping
Ear and nail maintenance

This nationally recognised qualification encourage skills necessary when grooming dogs with different types of coat. Learners will learn how to use a variety of equipment and increase their knowledge of grooming styles. Learners will gain knowledge of canine first aid and have an understanding of the health and wellbeing of different breeds of dog.
Learners will have an opportunity to gain competence in the Dog Grooming workplace.
This qualification has been designed for those looking to become professional dog groomers or those who already groom dogs but do not currently hold a nationally recognised qualification. This qualification does not require any formal written or practical assessments.

All Inclusive City and Guilds Professional Dog Grooming Course
From novice to fully qualified professional
City & Guilds requires 300 guided learning hours to complete the Level 3 Diploma. This will consist of 2 28 days of practical training. This course is aimed at those wishing to persue a professional career in dog grooming and will give you the skills required and plenty of hands-on experience with a wide variety of breeds. As part of the course you will need to complete 150 hours of home study and e learning work modules, so that your knowledge meets the City and Guilds requirements and to ensure you are a capable competent groomer. The home study is mandatory, and this time is logged to comply with City and Guilds requirements You will complete both the Level 2 and Level 3 City & Guilds Qualifications during this course, you will also complete a professional pet first aid course as well as a business studies workshop.
The course cost is £5000 and includes:

Professional running of a Business Workshop
