Taking good care of your permanent makeup is crucial to achieving the best result.

Instructions

For the 10 days following the tattoo procedure, wash the site gently and apply Tattoo Goo or aloe cream 2-3 times per day:

With eyes closed wash the site gently with liquid soap and water using your hands only.

Blot the area dry. Do not rub with a towel.

With eyes closed massage Tattoo Goo in gently for 10 seconds and then gently blot off the excess goo. Be careful to not get any Tattoo Goo in the eyes as it will burn.

After blotting, the area should not be oily or greasy to the touch. Allow the skin to breathe.

Sleep slightly elevated for the first few nights to reduce swelling.

Schedule and go to your complimentary touch-up appointment, which should be scheduled to occur between 4 and 8 weeks after the initial procedure.

The touch-up procedure ensures good color saturation and provides an opportunity to fine tune the final shape and color.

Cautions

Do not pick at the tattoo site at any time during healing.

Be careful not to get Tattoo Goo in your eyes and use it sparingly.

Do not let the area dry out completely, since this can cause scabbing and cracking of skin surface.

Products to Not Use on the tattooed area:

No Neosporin, Vaseline or other petroleum products while the site is healing. No bleach or dye for one month following the tattoo procedure.

No anti-acne products (e.g. Benzoyl Peroxide, Pro-active) or lightening creams (bleach creams) hydroquinone around any permanent makeup site, since they will cause rapid fading.

No anti-aging products or facial products containing Alpha Hydroxyls (AHAs), Retin-A, Lactic or Glycolic Acids. These will fade permanent makeup, since creams do not have assigned seating and travel in the skin.

Do not scrub, scratch or pick tattooed areas or you will lose color that may not be repairable. Avoid gardening and playing with pets close to the new tattooed area

Do not expose tattooed area to sun or tanning beds without using sun block. This can cause pre-mature fading.

Do not tweeze, wax, thread or use any hair removal products around the tattoo area until two weeks following the procedure.

Within the tattooed area itself, do not tweeze, shave, wax or thread or use any hair removal products at all.

If Tattoo Goo does not agree with you for some reason, use olive oil instead.

Be careful to avoid infection of the tattooed area for 15 days after the procedure:

Always wash your hands before touching the tattooed areas

Do not share your aftercare product (Tattoo Goo) with anyone

No facials or masks for 15 days, and avoid them in the brow area indefinitely.

No swimming pools, Jacuzzis or other bodies of water for 15 days.

Do not soak your face underwater in a bathtub or allow the shower to spray directly in your face for 15 days.

Laser procedures done within 3 inches of permanent makeup can cause fading

Face peels, even mild ones, may cause permanent makeup to lighten.

What to Expect

There may be moderate swelling, redness and bruising for the first 5 days. Apply a Ziploc bag filled with water and ice for no more than 15 minutes at a time to reduce swelling.

During the initial healing period, there should be minimal scabbing or flaking of the skin. If there is some scabbing or flaking, do not pick, and allow the scab or dry skin to come off on its own.

Mucosal eyeliner may cause eyes to stick together for the first few nights. If this occurs wet face and loosen the area with warm water, and then reapply a small amount of tattoo goo or olive oil.

Expect the color to eventually lighten by up to 40% once the healing process is complete.

Color may appear sketchy at different stages of healing. Be patient. This is a process that does not yield immediate results. Permanent makeup ink is not the same as body art ink, and by design it does not last as long as body art ink. Permanent Makeup does fade and is expected to last 2 to 5 years before requiring a touch-up.

If you develop excessive redness, itchiness, or white pimple-like spots in the tattooed area, you may be having a reaction to the Tattoo Goo. If this occurs, wash the area, and stop using Tattoo Goo or any other product on the area. Allow the reaction to settle down, which it should do in 24-72 hours.

The tattoo site cannot be tattooed again within 28 days or scarring can result. If you see changes that you would like to make to shape or color, they will need to wait until after this 28 day period.

Aftercare Instructions

Your skin will be temporarily sensitized after the treatment and you should adhere to the following instructions for the next 10 days. This will help avoid infection and allow time for the skin to recover.

If you apply makeup during the next 5 days following your treatment, you do so entirely at your own risk.

You have been advised how to apply safely by covering and protecting the treated area.

Healing can take up to 10 days and it is perfectly normal for small scabbing to appear on the treated area(s).

These should be allowed to fall off naturally over a period of a few days.

After the treatment; It is also normal for there to be fading of the color during the first 2 weeks and patchy sections, as the skin is still healing and the pigment will return to the surface in about 21days.

During the post-treatment period please avoid the following:

- GETTING THE TREATED AREA WET – THE PIGMENT WILL PEEL OFF

- Touching the treated area (s)

- Using soaps, cleansers, creams or make up on the treated area(s)

- Facial treatments such as eyelash or eyebrow tinting, plucking, electrolysis etc.

- Any abrasive materials such as rough towels or similar.

If small scabs appear on the treated area (s),

DO NOT TOUCH THEM. They will fall off in a few days.

- Taking hot baths, saunas or other heat treatments.

- Sunbathing, using Sunbeds or swimming.

- Using any form of bleach or depilatory products

- Avoid gardening and playing with pets close to the new tattooed area.
